This was My first Motorhead gig and actually my first show when i went up north.This was a disaster,It didn't start till about 11:00 pm and once it started the crowd was pissed off.I don't even remember what Virgin Steele did,but then came The Rods and i was looking forward to seeing them,but man did they ever dissapoint everybody there they did a bunch of songs nobody even heard of it was like what the fuck is this,so they booed them off the stage.Well then it was time for Motorhead to take the stage and remember this was the "Another Perfect Day"
tour.So they take like 30min to come on and when they do the sound is like pure HELL.Nobody liked Robbo cause he looked like some glam fag and i agree.I love what he did on that one and only album he did but,he just didn't fit the image of the band.Well anyhow they keep playing and the all of a sudden Lemmy says we have to leave cause the city has a time limit and that was it,they left the stage.
Well this was the return show for the band"Orgasmatron" tour and it's new lineup.Exciter and Mercyful Fate opened this one up and man what a great show it turned out to be the crowd was loving it,Motorhead was back!! With the two new guitarist Wurzel and Phil Campbell and a great new album.
This one needs no introduction.This was my one and only time seeing Metallica but it was with Cliff during the "Ride the Lightning"tour.Anthrax was killer they had their "Fistful of Metal"lineup as far as Raven went they were good but their time had passed by this time.
I remember this one very well cause Dave Mustaine was drunk and almost got his ass kicked cause he started saying bad things about the east coast and people were spitting at him it was hilarious.Slayer just did their usual they kicked ass this was the"Reign in Blood"tour so you know how that goes.
My first Iron Maiden show "Piece of Mind"tour at Madison Square Garden.Well i almost didn't get to see this one cause i was arrested going to the show.I was living in Jersey and took a train and when i got on i could see that there was something wrong,it was pure anarchy,was full of drunks,weed was in the air everybody was fucked up.it was full of headbangers going to the show.The conductor came in and said"theres women and children on here keep it down" then someone yeld"Fuck the women and children"thats when all hell broke loose.as the train kept picking up more people the crazier it got until we hit Red Bank that was it they made everybody get off the train cause by this time people were breaking out windows on the cars.As i got off the train i was there with a beer in my hand and just when i take a sip a cop comes up from behind and says your under arrest,i was like what for.Then i foundout it was you can't drink in public.But what was strange,my buddy was right next to me and they didn't take him down and that was good cause he bailed me out and i made it to the show just in time,i missed Quiet Riot but i don't care they suck.I found out a while later that my name was published in the local newspaper under all the others that got taken down haha!! and yes Maiden was Killer!!!
Venom oh yeah!!all this would of meant nothing if i didn't get to see this band back then.Voivod and CroMags opened this show up but Venom just killed they played like 2 hours i was so beat by the end of this one.This show was taped and this is the cover. half was in England(Hammersmith Odeon) the other over here at The Ritz.
This was my last show in my time up north and it's sad to say that it was pure shit.I was looking forward to seeing Celtic Frost but when they hit the stage my mouth dropped as i see Tom Warrior looking like a poser with some glam band shirt on it was a sick sight.Exodus saved the night cause by this time Anthrax was just boring and i never like belladonna's vocals.
Well that's all the visuals i have from that time.I seen a bunch more shows that i can't even remember but these stand tall in my memory.Only one show i remember very well that i only have a shirt to remind me of was Wargasm,Voivod,Exodus and Death Angel at the ritz back in 87,also it was my first time meeting El Duce haha maybe that's why i remember it.
